Adhesion improvement on the inner side of LLDPE/PA tubular film exposed to DCSBD roll‐to‐roll plasma system from the outer side of the film

Abstract Diffuse coplanar surface barrier discharge (DCSBD) was used to activate the opposite side of plasma‐exposed linear low‐density polyethylene/polyamide (LLDPE/PA) tubular film multilayer casing. We determined that conductive metal rubber roller in DCSBD system allowed formation microfilaments perpendicular surface, resulting improved wettability and adhesion inner LLDPE film. These findings were supported by increasing concentration polar functional groups. Based on these remarkable outcomes obtained after a very short plasma exposure time 0.5 s, roll‐to‐roll proper arrangement affords improvement treated without any material damage, hence can compete with industrial corona commercial sphere treatments.
